Education

On-site presentation & tour at Golden Skep Farm

One of the 3 cornerstones of the Colonial Garden Club of Marlborough’s purpose is Education: providing education through direct learning opportunities and providing scholarships to students pursuing higher education in the plant science field.

The gardening educational opportunities presented by and connected to the club have varied formats including speakers, hands-on workshops, “make and take” activities, field trips, conferences, certification courses and more. Whether during a regular monthly meeting, a special event on a weeknight, a workshop or outing held on a weekend, a 2 day conference on a specific gardening topic or the extensive Master Gardener Certification program, the opportunities to learn, grown, share ideas and challenges and develop a network of resources abounds. Learning forums range from those normally provided free of charge by the club itself to those provided by state and national gardening organizations which require fees established by those organizations, paid by attendees and not funded by the club.

Information about club-based learning opportunities is available on our Events page, in The Trumpet Vine and The Grapevine newsletters, on our Facebook page and at club meetings.

Information about other learning opportunities is available through the club and specific state and national gardening organizations. Learn more about these, specific to your interests, by contacting us at gardenclub01752@gmail.com.
